Affectionately nicknamed by friends years ago, LETRUX became known throughout Brazil after the release of her debut solo album Em Noite de Climão (Joia Moderna). Writer, singer, songwriter, and actress Letícia Novaes has since established herself as one of the most prominent figures in the contemporary independent brazilian music scene.

Letícia’s career spans theater, television series, film, voice acting, and nearly a decade fronting the band Letuce alongside Lucas Vasconcellos. Literature is also an integral part of her artistic persona: in 2015 she published her first book, Zaralha – Abri Minha Pasta (Editora Guarda-Chuva), followed by Tudo que Já Nadei (Editora Planeta, 2021), weaving together narratives and emotions that move seamlessly between music and the written word.

That same year, she co-created the podcast Taradas por Letras with Leïlah Accioly, where the duo explored and interpreted iconic songs from Brazilian popular music. Following Em Noite de Climão, LETRUX released the albums Aos Prantos (2020) and Como Mulher Girafa (2023). She is currently preparing her next projects: her third book (to be published by Editora Planeta) and a new live show, Letrux 20 Anos Alternativa, a tribute to the artistic scene where she first emerged.

Deeply attuned to the issues of our time, Letícia actively supports causes such as feminism, gender equality, and the fight against racism and homophobia, among others. Over the past decade, LETRUX has solidified her place as one of the leading voices in contemporary Brazilian music, celebrated for her intensely lyrical yet direct style, magnetic stage presence, and unique ability to connect with diverse audiences.

“But it is a mistake to assume, from the title alone, that this is a strictly sorrowful work. The album, in fact, serves as an invitation to a vast collective outpouring of tears—whether of joy, emotion, mourning, or contemplation. Now five years on, Letrux Aos Prantos, a Latin Grammy nominee, occupies the space of bittersweet nostalgia, a kind of comfort album.”

‘“The stage belonged entirely to Letrux, singer Letícia Novaes, backed by a band armed to bring her theatrical, explosive, feminist, and dissident vision to life. When she is not singing in sharp fragments, to the sound of a precarious and spasmodic new wave, she releases brief poetic snippets of sensitive vulgarity, telling us unsettling stories with Hebe Camargo (…)”
